This summer is the perfect time to start my portfolio. I want to begin making rough drafts of dresses... No particular reason or purpose... Just right now, I want to bring out my creative side.
I feel like I have many ideas for clothing designs wound up in my head and I like to draw... what better way than to draw fashion designs.... now im not saying im the perfect drawer or that I know what will make the perfect dress... but if I have any potential then I must start somewhere....
This is my first sketch... I drew it in a max of 5 minutes... so its obviously not the best picture...
take a look and tell me what you guys think... I really dont mind the criticism and all!
here is a second sketch... this is the ideal dress I want to create for myself! what do you guys think? :)
for the first sketched dress...I wanna color the dress Canary Yellow and the right breast plate is going to be a big braid... I had trouble drawing the braid and this really isnt my best drawing yet... but I just wanted to jot my idea down quickly ( I got excited to make my first attempt)... the big braid is going to be a different color its going to be Lavandar... and the marterial for the whole dress will be a shiney materal like satin... there is an opening on the right hip too just to give it some more edge and if you look at the bottom, I have a squiggly line going across, well thats because the bottome is going to be a faded lavandar.... if you look at the drawing to the right its the back view and the bottom is going to be a train so that it gives the dress and the person some length and elegance ...:) Ill post a colored version once I start getting all the proper utensils

Maybe one day I can create my own dresses... Sigghhhh....
